This photographic print features the Total Lunar Eclipse of 8th October 2014 as viewed from Kings Park, looking at the City of Perth, Western Australia.
As evening drew closer the anticipation of crowds at Kings Park grew, but also did the cloud! It was only about 20 minutes after moon-rise that the cloud cleared enough for us all to start catching glimpses of the eclipsed Moon. The clear thankfully grew as the night went on. This was taken about 100 minutes after moonrise at 19:50 local time (WST).
The City of Perth skyline has changed considerably in recent years with new buildings such as the dominant BHP building being constructed. This made for an opportunity to capture the eclipse with a more current city skyline than my previous lunar eclipse sequence over the city (2010).
