Small group telescope & tracker sessions are tailored to those present with a focus on the use of telescopes and ultra-portable equatorial tracker mounts. Prior to the session I will reach out to each participant and discuss what they wish to learn during the night.

Take advantage of this mid week convenient workshop located in suburban Perth to boost your nightscapes knowledge ready for your next dark sky adventure. We'll start with a 30-45 min group info session (bring a chair) then move to practical shooting where you can stay together or spread out as you choose.
Bring your mirrorless or DSLR camera, tripod, and associated camera equipment for an enjoyable information packed evening. Basic knowledge in using manual controls of your camera is assumed. We will walk through camera settings specific to nightscapes/astrophotography, tips on different scenarios and settings, and equipment to consider.
Make the most of the September-October Milky Way setting before it disappears for the remainder of 2023. We will have one night of theory, and one night of practical, both will be at the Perth Observatory in Bickley. See the Perth Observatory for lots more details.
This full day workshop introduces you to astrophotography across a broad range of subjects including Nightscape, Milky Way, Deep Sky, Solar, Lunar and Planetary. You will use your camera to photograph nightscapes on the grounds of the Perth Observatory and also use your telescope on astrophotography telescopes of Roger Groom and the Perth Observatory. In 2023 we have a new set of telescopes specifically dedicated to this task.
